Interview with client...

After receiving a brief from my client, I wanted to ask them a few questions which will ensure that I have become fully informed of their specific spaces needs as well as lifestyle! I didn't know exactly what questions to ask so I researched the Internet and came across a very useful page by an American company - Blue-J Design & Development.

Do you prefer spaces that inter-relate?
No we really don’t mind about that. We’d like the bathroom to be modern, and our bedroom to have the French influence. The study would be contemporary as well.

Do you have special needs to display collections, art or wall hangings?
No, the only things we have on display are our books and DVD’s and we’re hoping to put them into our new study.

Do you require a home office area or a full study (or both)?
Just a study

Do you like "cozy" spaces or light and bright rooms with vaulted/airy spaces, or both?
We quite like the idea of both. The bathroom should be bright, but cosy at the same time. The bedroom would be airy and light. The study would be airy, not fussy about the colours though.

What flooring would you prefer in each room? E.g. hard flooring/tile flooring/carpeted
Hard flooring in bedroom and study, tiled flooring or lino in bathroom – all heated flooring!

Is there any particular colour you would prefer for mood lighting in bathroom?
No we don't mind

Would you like any dimmer switches, if so where?
Bedroom

Wallpaper borders or fully papered wall - or both?
Just wallpaper in the bedroom on one wall.

Painted "touches" (leaves etc., murals, domed master bath ceilings, etc.)
No
