I have collected images of several designs for a study. Each one is very different in it's own way, using a different layout, colour schemes. I have noticed that the majority of the images have an Ottoman in the study, which is a sofa/day time bed. I think this would be brilliant for the client if any of the family members just wanted to relax and read a book, as mentioned in the interview all of their books will be placed into the study. It will be more a study/library.

Lighting
"As your bathroom will be a space for you to relax include some great atmospheric lighting which you can switch on to unwind in the bath," - Kelly Hoppen
Looking at these images using mood lighting, it is creating a peaceful ambience. The great thing about it is that there are several colours to choose from. They create a contrasting colour to the bathroom when in use. The benefit of using mood lighting is that the colours can be changed to create a different affect to suit your mood, or when you feel you need a change of colour. It would be much easier than redecorating your entire space!
It's great to have mirror lighting, very practical for individuals, useful for applying makeup, and shaving... Mirror cabinets are practical for storage reasons, this would be most ideal as storage is what the client is looking for
The spotlights can be shone on certain areas in the space, and used to enhance certain spots. E.g. in a bathroom, this could be the bathtub, shower, and sinks.
Bathroom inspiration
This concept is made up of inspirational images of the various designs and layouts of a bathroom, and how a particular shape carries out throughout the design. I love the mosaic tiling effect, I prefer the one that dominates certain areas in the bathroom, and the orange concept used in one of the bathrooms as it gives a very warm feeling. I love the fish tank used with the sink it’s very unique.

Bedroom Inspiration!
This moodboard is made up from inspiration images of French influence bedroom interior. This gives me a clearer visualisation of the colour scheme used in French interior and the main objects used to create the French influenced bedroom such as a chaise lounge, dressing table mirrors, chandeliers and wall lighting. The bedframes are also very detailed.
Surroundings
This image is a birds eye view of the clients home and surroundings. It was taken from google maps. The client mentioned the calm and peaceful neighbourhood they lived in, and wanted to reflect the 'calm peaceful' atmosphere into the interior of their chosen spaces.
Existing floor plans
As primary research, I have measured the spaces of my existing spaces, which will allow to find suitable furniture for the rooms

Interview with client...
After receiving a brief from my client, I wanted to ask them a few questions which will ensure that I have become fully informed of their specific spaces needs as well as lifestyle! I didn't know exactly what questions to ask so I researched the Internet and came across a very useful page by an American company - Blue-J Design & Development.

Do you prefer spaces that inter-relate?
No we really don’t mind about that. We’d like the bathroom to be modern, and our bedroom to have the French influence. The study would be contemporary as well.
Do you have special needs to display collections, art or wall hangings?
No, the only things we have on display are our books and DVD’s and we’re hoping to put them into our new study.
Do you require a home office area or a full study (or both)?
Just a study
Do you like "cozy" spaces or light and bright rooms with vaulted/airy spaces, or both?
We quite like the idea of both. The bathroom should be bright, but cosy at the same time. The bedroom would be airy and light. The study would be airy, not fussy about the colours though.
What flooring would you prefer in each room? E.g. hard flooring/tile flooring/carpeted
Hard flooring in bedroom and study, tiled flooring or lino in bathroom – all heated flooring!
Is there any particular colour you would prefer for mood lighting in bathroom?
No we don't mind
Would you like any dimmer switches, if so where?
Bedroom
Wallpaper borders or fully papered wall - or both?
Just wallpaper in the bedroom on one wall.
Painted "touches" (leaves etc., murals, domed master bath ceilings, etc.)
No
Proposal!
A couple with three grown up children soon to be moving out have been living in their home for 17 years, and have never touched up the decoration of the house. The only place they had redecorated was the bathroom, which was a DIY job. The family were not overwhelmed by the results, so decided to hire an interior designer to fill in the gaps they were unable to.
The required room for decoration are the bathroom, master bedroom, and the box room redesigned into a study.
The family are looking to spend £15,000 maximum and want it to be eco-friendly to keep the costs down.
The bathroom itself is separate to the toilet, and they are planning to knock the dividing wall down to increase the space in the bathroom. There is also the airing cupboard and a built in cupboard connecting to the bathroom; these walls will also be knocked down.
